Interview with 'Oskord'

The history of Oskord band begins on the ruins of quite successful Ukrainian band Holy Blood. Within this band, participants Oskord worked together for about five years. For now a new band has risen named Oskord, lets talk with these guys.

1-(TMR) Hello to you from The Metal Resource Holland, how are things going there in the Ukraine?

(O) The weather is nice in Ukraine, preparations for Euro 2012, and we don’t have anything to complain at.

2-(TMR) Will you introduce yourself and the band please! (name and instrument)

(O) Oskord band consists of six members:
Grigory Nazarov - vocals;
Sergey Nagorny - guitar, vocals
Max Kiprov - Guitar
Alexey Andrushchenko - bass
Andrey Yakovenko - flute, bouzouki
Dmitry Titorenko - drums

3-(TMR) Is this your first band, what other bands have you guys been in? (for everyone personal)

(O) Sergey: Prior to this, some of us played in the Holy Blood band, including me.
Max: I've played in some bands but it doesn’t make sense to mention them.
Dmitry: Holy Blood, Opozicia, TeSu, Factor 150, Evroklidon.
Grigory: Coram Deo, Usynlig Tumult, Heartquake.
Alexey: Holy Blood, Requital, St. Paul Crew. Well, the church worship team.
Andrey: I have quite a long time playing in the band Run, playing in the style of contemporary celtic.

4-(TMR) Can you tell us something about the origin of Oskord?

(O) Oskord band was formed immediately after we had to leave Holy Blood band, in August 2008. We had a long and carefully formed our line-up, aswell as working to create a new music material. At first it was difficult to start from scratch, but we don’t omit our hands.

5-(TMR) Why was chosen the name Oskord? Is there a story behind it?

(O) Oskord is Old Slavic word meaning a battle-ax. This word is good harmony with the style that we play. In addition, we believe that music is a weapon that can influence the world. Oskord is our spiritual weapon.

6-(TMR) How would you describe the music of Oskord the best?

(O) Best of all our music are able to describe the music critics and ordinary listeners. We call our style - folk metal. It’s a mix of folk music and modern metal genres.

7-(TMR) How does Oskord stands in life till events in the world, religion and politics and in which proportion stands that till your music and lyrics?

(O) Each of us has own civic position on those or other events, political issues. It is not always our opinions coincide, but this is not a matter of controversy. What about religion, we are believers, and it directly concerns our lyrics. We can’t not talk about what we live.

8-(TMR) For a lot of bands the lyrics are just an accidental circumstance, but for some bands they use them to communicate! Can you tell us how that is for Oskord?

(O) For us the lyrics aren’t just a sound addition to the music. Each text encourages people to think about their lives and make the right decision. Our lyrics are simple and clear, don’t need much to philosophize, to understand what the song about. Subject of our texts isa relationship between God and people.

9-(TMR) Is there a highlight already you will always remember, since the beginning of Oskord?

(O) I think we will always remember our first gig. We moved to this event for two years.

10-(TMR) And any worst thing? (if there is one)

(O) I can’t remember.

11-(TMR) What is your favorite food and drink? For everyone personal (no idea why people always want to know that)

(O) Sergey: I love all that delicious cooked. As for drinks, I love everything except the orange juice.
Max: Meat in French coffee with milk.
Dmitry: Sushi, cheese soup, and juices.
Grigory: Drink - Jägermeister, dishes - pies, borsch, dumplings.
Alexey: Favorite dish - mushroom soup, a drink - apple cider.
Andrey: the favorite dish has recently become a hot chicken soup with cheese and lemon, the favorite drink coffee consistently.

12-(TMR) First record you bought?

(O) Sergey: It was a collection of classical music. Operas of Russian composers.
Max: I don't remember.
Dmitry: I don’t remember) or never bought at all))
Grigory: The first disc - Black Sabbath.
Alexey: The first disc - Haggard - "And Thou Salt Trust ... The Seer".
Andrey: It is hard to remember, for sure it was some mp3 collection from Petrovka (the market in Kyiv). Maybe Deep Purple or Blind Guardian.

13-(TMR) What makes you laugh?

(O) Sergey: A good comedy.
Max: Jokes of our drummer.
Dmitry: Me personally - almost all)
Grigory: Laugh ...hmm, difficult question.
Alexey: Illogical phrases, absurd situation.
Andrey: A good mood, of course. If it is - a reason to laugh is easy to find.

14-(TMR) How did you prepare for a show?

(O) Sergey: I always pray before concerts, for people who will come and for our band. And choose what to wear and wash my hair)
Max: I try to think less about a gig, more often repeat the program at home.
Dmitry: There are technical preparation, check the pedal, the availability of all necessary, and spiritual preparation - a prayer, sometimes fast.
Grigory: Preparing for concerts ... "do not watch TV, do not listen to the radio, only water I drink, do not eat nothing” (C)
Alexey: I spend time in solitude, trying to calm down and, of course, work out the instrument.
Andrey: Play, slush the flute, change strings - nothing unusual.

15-(TMR) Favorite movie(s)?

(O) Sergey: Passion, Forrest Gump, Dancing In Darkness, Games Of Mind, The Saw, Illusionist, Tideland.

Grigory: The Terminator, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Coffeeand Cigarettes, The Book of Eli, Resident Evil, films of David Lynch.
Alexey: Tideland, Goodbye Lenin!

16-(TMR) What is your all-time album top 5?

(O) Sergey: For me it is always impossible to ask. I listen toa lot of different and good music, and select the best five albums is simply impossible.

Dmitry: In Flames - Reroute To Remain
Ozzy Osbourne - Ozzmosis

Although the albums sooo much.
Alexey: Neurosis - Times Of Grace
Portishead – Dummy
All India Radio – Fall
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - Here Be Dragons
Hatebreed – Supremacy
Andrey: Very difficult to choose.
Shostakovich - Symphony no.5 (this can be considered the album?)
E.S.T. - From Gagagrin's Point of View
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Michael McGoldrick - Wired
Dervish - Spirit

17-(TMR) What is the dumbest question you have ever been asked?

(O) Sergey: I used to have a piercing in the lip, and many wondered whether the drinks poured through the hole.
Max: With a stupid questions, I pass.
Dmitry: "The first CD you bought?"
Grigory: This question)
Alexey: “How rock music can be christian?" and "Do you have sponsors?"
Andrey: "Why did you decide to play Irish music?"

18-(TMR) Do you have a life philosophy?

(O) Sergey: God and His Word is my philosophy.
Max: It's hard to call philosophy my set of beliefs and principles, so the answer is no.
Dmitry: Yes, but nobody knows. Even me.
Grigory: Philosophy: be yourself.
Alexey: Each day opens many doors for you. And you must be careful, because some of these doors - decisive.
Andrey: Yes, even quite a lot. Regular inventing philosophies of life - an integral part of it.

19-(TMR) Are you visiting many gigs by yourself and what do you listen to these days?

(O) Sergey: Usually going to concerts, I connected with our performance,or work (I work as a concert and studio soundengineer). As always I listen to music of different styles.
Max: I attend about 10 concerts a year. Listen to music quite different, such as Sia furler, Rob Stewart, Jeff Loomis, PERIPHERY, Alter Bridge.
Dmitry: Except of my concerts, attended not quite a lot. It was the Scorpions in 1997, and small concerts of friends in Kyiv.
Grigory: This year attended the concerts of all bands, which from childhood revered and loved)
Alexey: I visit about once a month - once in 2 months. Now I listen mostly trip-hop, all sorts of bands like Doctor Flake, Massive Attack, Elsiane.
Andrey: I visit concerts once or twice a month. I listen to everything -the last time Mike Stern, Porcupine Tree, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos (record, where Jordi Zavala conducts), Brian Finnegan, Opeth, Tord Gustavsen Trio, Jamiroquai.

20-(TMR) Tell us about the hard rock/metal scene in your area please?

(O) There are more and more gigs with worldwide band in Ukraine. Appeared a large choice in attending the event. Naturally, this creates some problems for local bands. As many people as before the local band can’t gather and have to move in small clubs. In general, as we know, this is a standard situation for the whole Europe. And also Ukraine has the biggest metal festival in Eastern Europe, Global East, two years running.

21-(TMR) What's your opinion on downloading music from the Internet?

(O) Sergey: it’s a hard question. On one side of me as a musician I would like that to buy our CDs. On the other hand I myself download a lot of music. I think this can’t be avoided.
Max: Positive.
Dmitry: Downloading music without permission - is wrong.
Grigory: Download, listen - buy) I buy CDs mostly at concerts.
Alexey: Downloading music is ok. But it is important to remember that your favorite bands are worth it to buy their albums. I try to do so.
Andrey: I think that's the way it should be applied. Free flow of information works for the science (otherwise we would still be living inthe Middle Ages) - why should it not work for music?

22-(TMR) What can you tell us about the upcoming album? (such as songs / release date / label)

(O) The album contains only 6 tracks, but the duration of the album 30 minutes. At this moment we are still looking for a label for cooperation, so that speak about the release date still early. We already have several offers from different labels, we hope that it will soon be able to report on who stood out our choice.

23-(TMR) Any other plans?

(O) We continue to work on new songs, and once they are ready, we will start working on our next album. And we are waiting for proposals from the concert organizers.

24-(TMR) Guys thanks for your time and the interview, we wish Oskord all the best ......Is there anything you wanna say at last? (any final statement ?)

(O) We wish your webzine further development. Thank you for your promptness, it seems this is our first interview.
We also thank all those who have left such kind comments about our work. See you at the concerts! Let God bless you.

reviews album "hgouls-epitome"

Hguols – Epitome
Barren Meadow Recordings – 2010

I like music that is “out of bounds”. Material that does its own thing, without regard to convention or the usually arbitrary “rules” of a defined genre. I applaud artists that think outside the box & experiment with their music, even if sometimes it’s not all I hoped it might be based upon the experiment. Thus, any time I am introduced to an artist doing something unique or taking an unconventional approach, I flock to their material to check it out & get a bead on this approach, at the very least. Such is the case with Hguols.

Hguols, the reverse of the word “slough”, is also pronounced in reverse, or “fulse”. With an unconventional name comes an unconventional approach. This is black metal, but there are no guitars. “How can that be?” you immediately say. Well, this is metal played on MIDI. All the instrumentation here is done via the computer and all the instruments are virtual. So while the guitars may not buzz with the same raw energy that a real guitar does, or the music may have a certain “sheen” that most underground black metal lacks, this approach lends itself to the more symphonic & experimental side of the genre, which is generally what I prefer. In any event, this is an instrumental affair, and an interesting one at that.

Opening track “…of Resurrections” begins with a “choir” and symphonic intro, with a touch of piano in the background, that I wish was a bit higher in the mix. From then on, nearly the entire track is an aural assault with some variation & interesting things going on in the background, including some subtle choir and keyboard work, and a few things with the drums & cymbals that are rhythmically different from what is done on the CD elsewhere. ”…of Unprecedented Deaths” has a slight guitar intro, followed by what can only be described as a short drum solo, or at least as close to a drum solo as one can come in such a short span of time, via MIDI instrumentation. Otherwise, the song blazes ahead at full speed with blast beats, rolls, fast riffing, and lots of little cymbal crashes here & there. Of course, the harpsichord makes an appearance here and there for very brief respite moments before the song goes on assaulting the listener. There are nice symphonic touches present here & there, buried a tad in the mix so they don’t overpower the song. This song has a really cool moment toward the end where the guitars scale down for a really interesting effect not present anywhere else on the album. ”…of Threnodies Abided” is probably my favorite track on the album, having a nice dark, minor-chord approach to the riffs, a fair bit of symphonics going on, and some nice harpsichord and keyboard work throughout that just gives the song a very “layered” feel to it. There are also a couple cool stop-start moments here that break up the fast riffing monotony & draw the listener in a bit more. The harpsichord solo as the song begins to draw to a close is nice, complete with choir backing and showcasing a symphonic feel in much of the latter half. ”…of Burning Plagues” begins much differently, with a symphonic intro that has several layers of “instruments” prior to the fast black metal assault that takes place. The music becomes even more intense here than in the previous track, mostly due to the constant thump of the double-bass drums and the heavy use of cymbal crashes throughout. This track barely lets up, choosing to obliterate everything in its path, at least until the last 45 seconds comes in & reprises the symphonic intro, which is a nice touch. ”…of Sovereign Toccatas” has more of the great MIDI harpsichord sound, including a couple spots where only the harpsichord is playing & really shines, in part because the harpsichord parts not only sound like a real harpsichord is playing, but also because they’re written like harpsichord bits you hear in classical music. The harpsichord runs here are also great, because they focus on some non-traditional instrumentation for black metal, which adds a nice unique layer to this song. This track is also fairly melodic, with some subtle piano work in the mix as well.

“…of Winter Moons” begins almost immediatley in full-speed fashion, with fast drum rhythms, riffing, and symphonic elements adding the extra layer underneath. Things change up a bit to a slower overall drum rhythm to keep things interesting, then speed up again to further assault the listener with a healthy dose of traditional black metal rhythmic drive & power. ”…of Famine and Decay” has a cool, almost cello-like sound in its intro, and a much lower-key vibe to it, though still fast & furious. The drum work, though programmed, is nicely done, with a lot of layering of cymbals, tom rolls, and just little bits here & there that really showcase good drum composition. The symphonic outro of this track is also cool, though short. “…of Sorrowed Hearts” begins strictly with MIDI guitar, then some drum work bringing the track into full pummel-mode. Plenty of keyboard backdrop to accompany the assault, and more well-programmed drums to keep up the frenetic pace. The primary riffs here have an interesting effect because it’s a MIDI sound, and has a unique feel to it because of that fact. The ringing outro is a nice touch here as well. ”…of Blackened Skies” wastes no time, and immediately begins pummeling the listener with its MIDI double bass, guitar, bass, cymbals, and keyboard sounds. Right off the bat, though you can tell these are not real instruments playing, some of it sounds relatively real, such as the drums, keyboard sounds, and the cymbals. There’s a nice symphonic break about a minute and a half in that uses the MIDI “choir” sound effectively, and some good drum rolls, then blows back into the blast beats and fast riffing. “…of Eternity” immediately starts in with a fairly dark melodic riff, complete with pummeling drums & bass. The “choir” effect adds a nice layer as well here & there, giving the music a more “full” feel to it. The sudden stop nearly a minute and a half in for a short harpsichord interlude is great, then shifts to a symphonic piece with timpani, keyboards, and atmospherics that barely prepare you for the full-speed attack that ensues.

One thing that the MIDI format provides that a lot of real underground black metal lacks is clarity. Indeed, you can make out the melody here much more clearly than you can in much raw, under-produced black metal. Even when the melodic element is much more sparse or dissonant, it’s still easily discernible. This gives Hguols a unique opportunity to do some very interesting & unique things, as well as exploring some of the riffing conventions of the black metal style, while giving the untrained metal ear perhaps their first taste of some of those conventions in a manner that they may be more apt to decipher. The ride cymbals here, and for the most part, the high-hat work actually sounds fairly realistic, and the snare & tom work sounds much like triggered drums in the studio, so whatever MIDI set Tom is using here is definitely a winner from a drumming perspective. What I found as a listener is that this is much more dense than most MIDI compositions, so a patient listener will get much more out of this upon several listens, rather than expecting to simply be immediatley rewarded.

What the MIDI format lacks, obviously, is true guitar heaviness or bite. This is apparent throughout the listening experience, however, it doesn’t completely detract from the album. In some ways, it fully embodies a black metal aesthetic, as the MIDI format has little or no ability to be “warm” like guitar tones can sometimes be, so it retains that “cold” feeling that much raw black metal strives for. That is probably the greatest strength of the MIDI guitar here, that it has a “colder” feel to it. The biggest drawback of this format is that all of the riffs feel like they’re played at the same speed. This is necessary, in some ways, to generate the overall effect of listening to a distorted guitar, because without that constant motion, the MIDI guitar sound becomes a bit too sterile, lacking the power that a real guitar boasts. This limitation of the format is overcome, somewhat, by the interesting use of very minor chord melodies that help detract from the synthesized feel of the guitar. Because of the nature of the riffs here simulating the tremolo picking as well, the riffing is somewhat repetitive & the songs suffer slightly because of it. If there were more instances of slowed down bits, or areas where some songs could “breathe” more, it would create more interest. The other obvious thing missing is vocals. While I understand the concept of all MIDI for ease of recording, I do think this stuff would be great with some shrieks or rasps over top of it all. However, this is a minor complaint and not a deal-breaker.

Ultimately, this is a mixed bag that is mostly very good. I think perhaps Thomas (the sole member of Hguols) should either consider finding a more varied MIDI instrument set, perhaps with a more realistic distorted/metal guitar sound that he can tweak for maximum effect, or perhaps consider moving from the MIDI format to the MOD format, in which many MOD tracker software programs can more accurately capture the feel of a real instrument. Indeed, many Commodore Amiga games in the 90′s had soundtracks that are still highly lauded today, because the MOD format allowed for much more expansive soundscapes than what the Microsoft Windows MIDI format could produce. There are a number of games, as well as individual MOD compositions that have a more realistic distorted guitar sound, to give more of a heavy rock/metal feel. Of course, this could also be seen as a detriment to the sound of Hgouls, considering the “cold” and “distant” feeling that black metal is designed to evoke. Either way, I think an expanded instrumental palate on the next release would be in order, so as not to overdo the formula too quickly. All in all, much like the a capella metal band Van Canto, this is a very unique, interesting, and listenable project. I look forward to what Thomas does in the future with this project, because I think this CD shows he has the capability to produce something very unique, interesting, and engaging. Recommended for anyone into black metal that enjoys, or perhaps prefers the non-traditional diversions of the genre, rather than for genre purists who prefer nothing but straight-up, old-school black metal with no frills.

news .....'Old Man Frost' to release demo

New project Old Man Frost, featuring Azahel (Frost Like Ashes, Possession), Fire (Frost Like Ashes, Elgibbor, Fire Throne), Wretched (Grave Robber) and Sebat (Frost Like Ashes), are finishing up a 4 song demo.

They are planning on un-leashing it soon. They have as of today not decided on whether it’ll be a digital MP3 release or a CD/CD-R release. Stay tuned for additional details.

Envothril – Interview

I recently talked to a new Unblack Metal band Called Envothril on the Unblack Metal Scene label. These guys are a good raw Unblack Metal band. Enjoy the interview and by all means check these guys out.

1. Hi Guys thanks for taking the time for the interview. Not too many people have heard of you so why don’t you tell us about the band. How did you get together? How long have you been around?

Hails! We are a raw unblack metal band that consist of two members: myself (Prevail) and Triumph. We just recently had our EP “Blasphemy Unto The Blasphemers” released through Unblack Metal Scene Records. We have been active since May of this year.

2. What does Envothril mean? How did you come up with that name?

Envothril is a name that we came up with. It’s meaning is nonexistent. To us, it sounded like a very menacing and dark title for our battle hymns.

3. How did you hook up with Unblack Metal Scene? What is it like working with them?

Unblack Metal Scene contacted us online and asked if we would like to be a part of the label. We were very surprised and honored, considering the fact that our EP was going to be self-released. The productivity regarding the distribution of our release was a pleasant surprise because it was put out very quickly by the label.

4. Your music seem to me to be very Vikingesk in sound what black metal bands influenced you most?

The essence of making raw black metal influenced us the most, as far as the music goes. However, we look highly upon black metal acts such as: Horde, Evroklidon, Hortor, Frost Like Ashes, etc.

5. The album art is very cool who inspired it? And what is the symbolism of it?

I (Prevail) took it upon myself to do the artwork for this release. Our goal was to make a raw looking album cover. I remember looking through cds at a music store and came across an album from Winter of Apokalypse called “Solitary Winter Night.” I remember seeing how raw the artwork was on that release. For our release, the artwork doesn’t really contain a lot of symbolism. It’s pretty basic: A demonic dwelling place being obliterated, a cabin full of satanic imagery being crushed. We wanted it to be very straightforward and compelling. On a side note, I would like to say that this release is very symbolic. Personally, I look at the cabin as our souls. We are very darkened inside because we, myself included, allow so much evil in our lives until it pushes out the most essential piece of ourselves, Jesus.

6. You guys have a very raw black metal sound was that intentional? Why the raw sound and not more of a hifi production?

It’s a lot easier for us to record the way we do, plus it gives us our raw sound. It’s a pretty quick process that consists of us playing the drums and guitar live. We mix the keys and vocals separately. Half of the EP was recorded in a bedroom and the other half in a garage. We want to remain raw in our sound and appearance.

7. What are some of the symbolisms in your music and what role does it play musically? lyrically?

Our music has stirred up a slight amount of controversy online because of our title and war based themes. In response to the controversy I made the following statement:

“The very essence of this band is to symbolize the content of “evil.” Evil and darkness, to us, is all that tries to destroy your faith in Christ, or anything that attempts to take Him away from you. Symbolism plays an important role in our music. Our lyrical content deals with the eternal battle of this evil. All of us, as Christians, are warriors for Christ. We portray/symbolize this evil as a darkened alliance that must be defeated, in the tradition of most unblack bands. We are not portraying ourselves as a couple of murderous savages for Christ. “Blasphemy Unto The Blasphemers” is simply a rebellious attitude of giving your own personal demons “a taste of their own medicine.” It is the hatred of our own demons that we carry in our message. There is absolutely no hatred in our hearts towards anybody. We love the Satanists, the atheists, etc. just as we love our fellow Christian brothers and sisters. So just look at our music as a message of self defeat. Dying to one’s self by ourselves. Because we (ourselves included) are evil, filthy and unjust beings. We must destroy the evil within us if we want to grow closer to the Savior.”

8. How has the EP “Blasphemy Unto The Blasphemers” done so far? Has it been received well?

Actually, we haven’t heard any feedback on our EP since its release. However, we have had certain individuals compliment our music and we haven’t heard any negative feedback thus far. We are very thankful their input

9. In general there are a lot of new bands in the Unblack metal underground is the scene once again seeing a resurgence and why?

Unblack metal, to us, is and always will be involved in the underground. It is a genre that dared to be bold in the midst of darkness. Like us as Christians. We are called to represent the name of Christ in a world that rejects His name. I think it is a brotherhood and will continue to progress with strength

10. What is up next for Envothril tours? New albums?

Well, being that we are a two man project, we will not be doing any touring. However, we will be working on new material soon. We have already began discussing ideas and writing for the new release.

11. Thank you again for your time do you have final words for the fans?

Thank you Larry! We appreciate your interest and having us for the interview. Thanks to everyone that gave us a chance and a listen. “Fight the war within your soul with courage. Never let your guard down. Weapons high!”

Last Battle – Interview

I was able to talk to the guys from Ukrainian band Last Battle and I’ll tell you these guys are great.

1. Thank you so much for your time today. Could you give a history of Last Battle and how the band got it’s name?

Last Battle was born in 2006. Once after another listening of ‘Crimson Moonlight’ I began to pray and beg God about such bands on ex-USSR area. But I got no idea, what God will use me for that. Why I didn’t think about myself? Because I was addicted to drugs very hard and long time and this damaged my health. Even now I have some physical defects and, in fact, everything I do now, in 2006 was unreal. But, as we know, with our God nothing is impossible, and seems, what He saw something in me and He use me in that way. Name ‘Last Battle’ is just symbolic and it’s about Armageddon’s battle.

2. Who are the lyrical and musical influences of the band?

Both – God, of course. As for me, Last Battle is true ministry and it blessed by my pastors, teachers and even our archbishop. Let me tell you, what I’m Pentecostal and in our community metal is not accepted at all. For me music is the way to preach Gospel. So God has great influence on music and lyrics.

3. All of your lyrics are in your native language are there any plans to do an English version?

Well, maybe someday I’ll sing in English, but not now, that’s for sure…, I don’t know English at all, I use my friend for translates.

4. You guys have been busy releasing two albums within just a few months of each other how are the two albums different from each other?

Yeah, we had released two albums ‘Last Battle’ with two month difference, but there’s hint – album «Through the thorns up to the stars» was recorded and mastered in 2009. And album «The way home» was recorded in 2010. Now we have third album of ‘Last Battle’ named «The War», so we decide not to slow process and release two albums in one year.

5. How have these albums and their message been received by the public?

Lyrics has different reaction. Ones curses us, other blesses. Many people said, what lyrics are insist to think.

6. How did you guys come in contact with Unblack Metal Scene? Did they contact you?

They found us first.

7. Has it been difficult to get your music spread across the world? If so what are some of the issues you have had?

(Internet rules ;) ).

8. What is the metal scene in the Ukraine like? Is the Christian scene strong there?

Heh, even secular metal scene is weak, Christian doesn’t exist at all. All Christian metal bands could be counted by fingers of one hand.

9. I think that you guys are doing an incredible job. Your music is amazingly epic in all ways. Is that because of the atmosphere that you guys have created or are there other factors that make it so epic?

Thanks but why epic? Well, what kind of music you can imagine about greatest battle in mankind’s history? That’s the key – music is epic, because it’s about war.

10. Your albums have started making their way here in america but many people still don’t know much about Last Battle or that you also have a couple of other projects as well. What are those projects and how are they coming along? Are they the same musical style as Last Battle?

Yep, besides ‘Last Battle’ we have three bands: Destroyer of lie (Experimental Black Metal/Folk/Viking Metal), Plerophoria (Death/Doom Metal/Black Metal), and fresh name Henoticon (Black Metal). They’re different by sound of course. They’re even unique. Better listen, then read our explanations.
